About

I make things
actually work.

I'm Fayyaz - an Embedded Systems & Firmware Engineer who ships production-ready code that runs on hardware. Not prototypes. Not demos. Real firmware for IoT devices, medical tech, and industrial systems.

From porting the Helix MP3 decoder to ESP32-S3 to building a trilingual speech recognition pipeline on NVIDIA Jetson Nano, I work at the exact boundary where software meets the physical world - where a bug isn't just a ticket, it's a consequence.

Currently pursuing B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunications at S.P.I.T. Mumbai, while building audio playback systems at Kahani Toys. IIT Bombay-affiliated research project in parallel. Executive Head of the IEEE Student Chapter.

Work Experience

Where I've
built real things.

Kahani Toys Sep 2025 → Present
Embedded Systems Engineering Intern
  • Engineered 3+ audio applications on ESP32-S3 using MAX98357 I2S Audio Decoder for .wav & .mp3 playback
  • Implemented BLE+WiFi coexistence for audio controls, SD card file management, and wireless MP3 streaming
  • Improved audio quality by up to 90% by introducing automatic mono/stereo mode switching
  • Ported the Helix MP3 Decoder to ESP-IDF (Xtensa), building custom partition table layout for multi-format audio handling
VISO May 2025 → Aug 2025
Embedded Firmware Intern
  • Engineered industrial automation firmware on STM32F3/F4/H7, integrating 24-bit ADC (MCP3564) via SPI with USB CDC for live data acquisition at RMSE < 5%
  • Built a 3-language (EN/ES/JP) speech-to-text pipeline on NVIDIA Jetson Nano using Vosk & Whisper — 95% accuracy with Modbus TCP control
  • Integrated Bluetooth Classic on ESP32 for wireless speaker connectivity
  • Interfaced GPS module for a real-time bus navigation system across 20+ locations in India
View Certificate
SMOWCODE Dec 2023 → May 2024
Embedded Systems Developer Intern
  • Developed PID control library on ESP-IDF for ESP32 maintaining < 3% steady-state error
  • Built a C-to-graphical code bridge that reduced development time by nearly 10×
  • Implemented UART communication firmware on NXP S32K144
  • Designed bit-banged software I2C & SPI drivers on ESP-IDF, verified against hardware output at 90% efficiency
